Description

During the French-U.S.O wars a larger war was being waged in Europe, the most unique thing about this war was it was being waged entirely in the air. The still intact countries took the opportunity to take control of the air which theoretically would mean control of Europe. Eisenjagdhund saw this as an opportunity to test their new project, the air ironclad

The air ironclad or Eisendrache was a humongous improvement on the traditional war zeppelins in use for the past 200 years. It is a very basic concept and some historians wonder why it wasn't thought of before. A large cavorite chamber was placed inside a normal ironclad hull. The decreased weight produced by these flying mechanisms allowed for larger hulls, more and larger guns and increased speed. As this ship did not have to worry about flooding or rust more broadside guns could be fitted at lower elevations. a new mast had to be fitted to communicate with ground forces or ships below them.

The time to test these new airships came when a large fleet of Spanish war zeppelins flew towards Germany with the object of destroying the remnants of the once proud Atlantic air fleet. They ambushed from a large cloud over the French province of Franch-Comte by air ironclads. The Spanish fleet was utterly defeated with not a single surviving ship surviving the whole province was enveloped in the ensuing smoke cluod from the burning wooden frames and hydrogen envelopes, a nearby forest was set on fire and a village underneath the battle was almost completely destroyed. The test fleet only took minimal crew losses though the Spanish ship: perro rabioso did manage to board one of the test ship though it was quickly blown off by the numerous broadside guns.
This battle was recorded as "the battle of Besancon" though it was known by the test crews and surviving villagers as "the battle of the burning sky"

This battle was exactly the demonstration Eisenjagdhund had hoped for and orders for the ships flooded in. A larger success had not been made by the Eisenjagdhund since the introduction of the battlefield butler Mk II.

Following the success of the battleship Eisenjagdhund soon produced a smaller "bomber" class with the ability to attack ground targets with H.E, shrapnel or phosphorous shells, these soon became an addition to the air fleets European countries.
